How To Build Muscle Based On Your Body Type – Which One Of The 3 Body Types Are You?
by on May.15, 2010, under Uncategorized
All of us can have great bodies. All of us deserve to have great bodies. But we also have genetic tendencies embedded in our bodies. This is my short take on how to build muscle based on which one of the three body types you possess. By knowing your body type you will be able to do the correct type of exercise, which will allow you to either lose fat or gain muscle – whatever you are going after! Are you the first body type – the Endomorph? The Endomorph is shorter and bulky, and generally characterized by round body shapes. Their limbs are shorter and fatter, as well as their torso is wider and shorter. A good example of an endomorph would be movie star Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Does this sound like you?If you are an endomorph, then you have a good basis for muscle building. True, you might have some fat on top of your muscles, but they are there to build on. The first step, of course, is to accept your body type and take the measures necessary to achieve your goals based on your genetic predisposition. Then, you need to get to work. Since you want to get muscle definition, you would need to get rid of some of your fat. As you are naturally inclined to put on weight, then you need to be extremely careful with your diet. Eliminate sugars and refined fats as much as possible. Then, as for exercising, you will need intense strength-building exercises on a regular basis. And the keywords here are regular and intense. Don’t let the intensity go down, keep your body challenged with regular exercises and very soon you will see results! Are you the second body type – the Mesomorph? The mesomorph body type is characterized by a naturally muscular and relatively lean body. The mesomorph has the perfect basis for becoming a bodybuilder – broad shoulders, barrel chest, and muscular arms and legs. A good example of one would be movie star Vin Diesel. Are you this lucky? If you are a mesomorph, then you are lucky! It doesn’t, however, mean that you should not exercise or watch your diet – it simply means that you have a head start. You would still need intense exercises and to reduce refined fats and sugars from your diet. But you will definitely achieve your muscle building and fat burning goals much faster than the other two body types – just follow your exercising routine and keep challenging your great muscles and watch them grow. Even more reason to get to it now!Are you the third body type – the Ectomorph? The ectomorph body type is characterized by a tendency towards leanness and slimness. The ectomorph carries little muscle, but little body fat as well. A good example of this body type would be movie and television personality Ashton Kutcher. Does this sound like you?So, if you have the ectomorph body type, then your biggest problem is exactly muscle gain, and you are at the right place. Muscle building is a big challenge for you, and you need to have a great strategy for it and stick to it every day. When you are skinny, you might gain fat, but you will not gain muscle, unless you go after some really intense strength-exercising. You need to show your body that you mean business and that it has to put on muscle if it wants to survive the pressure you put on it. In case you find that you burn fat easily through your exercises, but you have trouble gaining muscle, you would need to increase the intensity and decrease the volume of your workout. Of course, don’t forget to give your body regular rest to rebuild itself. And then you will gradually get the body you want, so keep up the good work! So, in this article I presented you with the three body types, and how they influence what you need to do to build muscle. Being aware of whether you are an endomorph, a mesomorph, or an ectomorph would allow you to focus on the right things to do in order to achieve the perfect shape based on your body type. This understanding is a good start, and you will need a good workout and diet program, which will allow you to use the strengths of your body and reduce its weaknesses.

Any secrets (based on experience) to building muscle besides the usual “work hard” and “eat right”?
by on Mar.03, 2010, under Uncategorized
Anything else I need to know while I start my journey of building up my upper body. . . mainly my shoulders, pecs, and abs. i’m not overweight, matter of fact. . . i’m skinny. . . . just want muscle though. Any advice besides the simple eat right and work hard lecture? Any certain foods and/or exercises help build muscle faster than others? If there’s any age based advice, i’m 21. P. S. Do you use protein shakes before or after you work out?
