Ive been trying to gain muscle mass and bulk up for a while now. i started drinking protien shakes, lifting weights, etc but i havent been seeing the results that i want. people say all the time that diet is the most important aspect and that you need to protein protein protein. my question is, i see at the gym tons of guys and girls with nice physiques, nice, muscular, defined, cut bodies but what are the odds that they all follow a rigorous diet? Could it be that they lift weights and work out super hard? i mean i know i should assume but some of those people dont look like they would even bother with following a diet.

Question about building lean muscle and diet?

I have read different publications on this. Some say to do heavy weight with a low number of reps, others said to do light weight with a high number of reps. Which one is better for building lean muscle?
Also, what is the best diet for lean muscle? I am drinking 3 liters of water a day and have restricted my diet to 1500 calories.
And finally, is there a supplement that I should be taking with my workout? BSN Syntha-6? BSN Atro-Phex? Has anyone tried these and have they worked?
